KIHL Junior Opening Weekend 

KIHL Junior Inaugural Season Opener got underway in Hamilton on October 12th 2024.

The four franchises each with a Division 1 and Division 2 team made up from 80 players from across New Zealand and 1 player from Tasmania, Australia. 

The day began with an official opening hosted by our good friend and official KIHL Commentator Ash Stephens. The opening included the jerseys presentation with Franchise Junior General Managers handing the players they drafted their official players jerseys.

The Division 2 Kings vs Mantas took the honors of the official KIHL puck drop as the Kings went on to beat the Mantas 8 - 3. While the Saints vs Sharks got us underway in the Division 1 Competition.

A great spectacle of hockey was played throughout the weekend with 3 v 3 overtime wins in both Divisions.

In Division 1 the Yellow Jackets finished top of the table with the Kings holding it down in Division 2.

Logan Eastwood leads the stats in Division 1 with 10 points across his first 3 matches including 7 Goals and 3 Assists. 

Liam Shorten leading Division 2 in Statistics with 4 Goals and 4 Assists for 8 Points in his first 3 Games.
